Photography Appointment Check List

 

You’ve booked your real estate photoshoot and you want the process to be perfectly smooth and achieve the absolute best photographs. What should you do to get ready before hand? Here are a few helpful tips!​

  • Kitchen & bathroom countertops are cleared and there are no dishes or sponges left in or around the sink
  • Trash bins are hidden in a closet or garage
  • All lights are turned on (fixtures, under-cabinet lighting, & lamps)
  • All toilets are closed, hand towels and bathrobes are folded or removed and countertop toiletries are stored away, with toilet paper rolls either removed or replaced with full rolls
  • All beds are made and laundry is stored out of sight
  • Children’s toys and pet’s toys and food/water bowls are hidden or stored neatly
  • Ceiling fans are not spinning but with lights turned on (if possible)
  • Driveways are cleared of all vehicles or other obstructions
  • Use bulbs of the same temperature if possible
  • Turn all ceiling fans OFF
  • Turn all TVs OFF
  • Turn all computer screens OFF
  • Open blinds/window treatments to let in outside light
  • Place all shoes/jackets in closets
  • Close garage doors
  • Remove cars from driveway & front of home
  • Clean up landscaping (mow, trim shrubs, clear leaves)
  • Remove empty planters
  • Remove visible water hoses
  • Outside: Remove toys, sports balls, basketball goals, soccer goals, etc.
  • Clean porch, tidy up outdoor tables/chairs/cushions
  • Pillows/cushions should be fresh, not faded
  • Remove pool vacuum/cleaner hose if possible
  • Hide pool cleaning supplies
  • Turn on pool fountains/water features
  • Gate access codes are sent ahead of time, including lockboxes and keypads
  • Guardhouses are called ahead of your appointment if the community is gated
